Growing up in Idaho I spent my childhood fishing the banks of the Boise River and exploring the Boise foothills. It was then I gained an appreciation for Nature and working with wood. One of my first jobs was working in a lumber yard loading trucks and sorting lumber. I loved the look of the Blue Spaulted Pine and spent most of my checks on lumber for projects. Working with my hands comes naturally. My grandfather was a Craftsman of Woodworking all his life, first building his lifelong home then the furniture to fill it. I remember being in awe of his wood shop. The thing I remember most is playing in the sawdust on the floor. To this day I still love the feel of sawdust through my fingers.
I get inspiration for my pieces from the things that surround me. The Forests my son and I loved to hike, Foothills where my wife and I love to ride, and the Rivers I fished. Kathy, my wife, helps me design pieces to fit our lifestyle and to also combine form and artistry. I feel my work is an extension of myself and my lifestyle. Building Custom Furniture is my hearts desire and I want my pieces to reflect just that.
